TOOL@RREST GLOBAL TOOL TETHERING DO’S & DON’TS

Tool@rrest Global’s goal is to ensure that the correct tethering procedures are implemented for the safe handling of tools. When selecting tethers and lanyards for tools, here are Tool@rrest Global guidelines:

WORK POSITIONING V FALL ARREST

There are two approaches to managing risk of falls, and the system used depends on the situation and the work to be undertaken.

TOOL@RREST GLOBAL PRODUCT DAILY INSPECTION REGIMES

Here’s a quick guide to inspecting your products. Remember that we are always on hand to help you define a formal, rigorous process before implementing a tethered tool programme.

TOOL@RREST TETHER

Prior to any work proceeding with your tethered tools, run the Tool@rrest Tether through your fingers and visually and physically check for:

For burns or chemical erosion of the PVC coating.
Cuts through to the Steel core showing fraying of the Internal cable.
That the shrink is still in place at the joint.
That the Tether tag & Serial no are still in place.

If any of the above signs show, have the tether replaced.
