Self-Tethering: An Alternative to Homemade Tethers

January 30, 2020

A common issue we see is the use of “homemade tethers”, usually created with rope, tape or key rings. Whilst the intention is good, they are not up to the task required and can lead to accidents.

As an alternative, we have developed our self-tether range as a quick solution for tool tethering. Self-tethers are fitted by the operative, with different designs available to suit different tool types.

Self-Tethering Key Benefits

Self-tether solutions use different designs to accommodate varying tool shapes. Whether it’s a tape measure, spanner or screwdriver, there is a self-tether solution to match it. We’ve created a series of how-to videos on our YouTube channel to guide you through the process.

Are you looking for a longer-term tool tethering system? If so, we’d recommend choosing a solution with our patented blue tether. The blue tether is our most rigorously tested tool tether option. This fail-safe solution is available as part of a tethered tool kit or can be used in our Retr@fit service, where blue tethers are fitted to your existing tool stock.

If you want to find out more about self-tethering or are unsure which tethering solution is right for your needs, talk to the Tool@rrest team today about how we can help you find a safe and reliable system. Contact the team online or call: +44 (0) 1952 292 782.
